Let There Be

Let there be darkness so I might sleep
beneath the dead distant stars, their slow light
navigating this leaking wreck
so I might believe in solid ground.

Let there be land at dawn so I might love
the rot and lay upon it.

Let there be.
Let there be.

Let there be some refuge there.

  5. woohoo look who is rocking the 55s...may you find your refuge...love the imagery...the dead sky stars piercing the wreck...hope in the rot of land...but there is more beneath this...the feelings...but mayyou find it...

brino says "may your stars twinkle like glittery awards, even if they are dead"...lol

  6. Raising the bar--we live for it. This is dense with a sombre yearning, the refrain a rocking of the fretful child heart. Beautiful and a bit eerie. Glad you could make it--I find 55 words a real challenge, but it also makes a great crucible, as you show us here, for boiling things down to their essence.

  16. Now THIS is a freaking great poem!!

Those sad dead stars "dying in a corner of the sky...

And lasers in the jungle somewhere."
