Upstairs neighbors are at it again.
Stomping, thrown objects, and loud
thuds shake my ceiling.
Get out! Get out of here! She screams.
But he won’t leave, not until he’s taken
a piece of the wall and her with him.
Later the ceiling will shake again
headboard thumping, bed springs
creaking so many terrible moans.

The fighting and terrible "resolution" involved in such relations is heartrending to witness even from a distance or through floorboards. Poignant 55, Ami.

ReplyDeleteSo MUCH said in 55 words. Disturbing, but true.
ReplyDeleteUg, that ending is cringe-worthy. The photo, too.

Great 55! I generally don't care to know what goes on behind a couple's closed doors but every now and then, they handle their business in the open.
ReplyDeleteI know this.. perhaps that's why I was hated.. I disagreed to make out!
ReplyDeleteVery moving, sad and true..

Sounds just like my next door neighbors. All their drama gets so tiring.

Why don they just break up already! Geez.
ReplyDeleteApartment life is NOT for me.
ReplyDeleteI've lived next to those people; in actuality, our worst neighbor was the single middle-aged woman who hated me and kept accusing me of smoking in our apartment (next to the vent) to give her cancer - after I repeatedly, honestly told her I don't smoke anything.
ReplyDeleteAnyhoot-hoot, good/relatable work, my friend.
Love this ... I think I've been there a time or too.
