Domestic Disturbance

Upstairs neighbors are at it again.

Stomping, thrown objects, and loud
thuds shake my ceiling.

Get out! Get out of here! She screams.
But he won’t leave, not until he’s taken
a piece of the wall and her with him.

Later the ceiling will shake again
headboard thumping, bed springs
creaking so many terrible moans.

  1. The fighting and terrible "resolution" involved in such relations is heartrending to witness even from a distance or through floorboards. Poignant 55, Ami.

  2. dang...aint that the truth...i watched this chick bean her hubby with a pumpkin, throw a kid out the second story window...and next week they are knockin boots again...sick in the head...i tell ya

  3. So MUCH said in 55 words. Disturbing, but true.

  4. Ug, that ending is cringe-worthy. The photo, too.

  5. Ditto Patricia. I don't understand it, but I know its true--an ugly slice of life in 55, AM.

  6. Reminds me of Mr. and Mrs Smith.
terrible fights leading to passionate make-ups.

  7. Make Up Sex!!!!
    Pure and simple...
    Loved this Passionate 55 Ami.
    It was very exciting.
Thanks for playing, and have a Kick Ass Week-End

  8. Apartment life does have its ups and downs. Fun 55. I'm glad you played the game. If you would like to check out my 55:

  9. Great 55! I generally don't care to know what goes on behind a couple's closed doors but every now and then, they handle their business in the open.

  10. I know this.. perhaps that's why I was hated.. I disagreed to make out!

    Very moving, sad and true..

    Weekend Hugs xx

  11. Sounds just like my next door neighbors. All their drama gets so tiring.

  12. Why don they just break up already! Geez.

  13. I've lived next to those people; in actuality, our worst neighbor was the single middle-aged woman who hated me and kept accusing me of smoking in our apartment (next to the vent) to give her cancer - after I repeatedly, honestly told her I don't smoke anything.

    Anyhoot-hoot, good/relatable work, my friend.

  14. Love this ... I think I've been there a time or too.
